New Year in Rimini: Events and What to Do
The programme below is the one from the last edition, the night of 31 December 2025.
The line-up for the coming New Year has not been announced yet: we update this page as soon as Rimini city council publishes it, usually in the second half of December. In the meantime the last edition gives a good idea of what to expect, since the shape of the night repeats from year to year.
The old town and the seafront light up for the "Festa Grande" with one huge city-wide dancefloor and 10 parties in 10 venues: this is the "longest New Year in the world".
On Wednesday 31 December 2025 Rimini turned into an open-air stage: plenty of music, culture and fun to welcome 2026 in true Romagna style. New Year's Eve is the high point of the Christmas in Rimini programme, which brings the city to life from late November to Epiphany.

Rimini Dance Floor

DJ sets with the young performers of the Rimini DJ Academy, followed by an outstanding DJ rotation with the legendary DJs of Rimini's nightclubs. The beating heart of the New Year's Eve party.
Domus del Chirurgo: POP HISTORY

Music with Michele Tani (voice and piano) and Alessandro Pagliarani (sax). Pop hits reworked in acoustic versions in a remarkable archaeological setting.
RDS 100% Grandi Successi & Discoradio Party
Where: Piazza Cavour
When: 11:30 pm to 1:00 am
Roberta Lanfranchi of RDS and the Discoradio Party (Matteo Epis, Valentina Guidi and Edo Munari) carry Rimini into 2026 with the biggest hits.
Liscio Street Parade, "New Year Edition"
Where: Piazza Kennedy

Entry: free
The tradition of liscio, the ballroom dance music of Romagna, meets a new generation with three orchestras: Santa Balera, Alluvionati del Liscio and Roberta Cappelletti. At midnight, fireworks over the sea.

Incendio al Castello
Where: Castel Sismondo

A breathtaking display of fire and light illuminating the historic Castel Sismondo. Two performances, so nobody misses the most eagerly awaited event of the night.
The Cultural New Year
Museums and cultural venues stay open with free admission, generally from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am. A rather special way to spend New Year's Eve.

10th Corrida di San Silvestro

A running race, competitive and non-competitive, to end the year in good shape. A classic fixture for Rimini's runners.
Rimini City Tour: the Wonders of Rimini

Practical Information
New Year in Rimini takes place mainly in the old town (Piazza Malatesta, Piazza Cavour, Castel Sismondo) and by the sea (Piazza Kennedy). Most events are free to attend.
If you are arriving by car, the recommended car parks are those at the railway station and in the old town. At the busiest times it is best to use public transport.

Frequently Asked Questions about New Year in Rimini 2026
In the last edition New Year in Rimini spread across 10 different locations between the old town and the seafront. The main ones are Piazza Malatesta, Piazza Cavour, Castel Sismondo and Piazza Kennedy.
The whole old town becomes one large city-wide dancefloor with music, concerts and shows until late into the night.
The "Incendio al Castello" show at Castel Sismondo has two performances: at 12:30 am and at 2:00 am. In Piazza Kennedy there are fireworks over the sea at midnight, during the Liscio Street Parade.
Most of Rimini's New Year events are free to attend: DJ sets in the squares, the Liscio Street Parade, concerts, firework displays and museums open late.
Only a few activities such as the Rimini City Tour and certain guided visits are charged or require booking.
During "The Cultural New Year" these venues are open free of charge: Teatro Galli (Sala Ressi), Teatro degli Atti, Museo della Città, Domus del Chirurgo and Palazzo del Fulgor.
Opening hours are generally 9:00 pm to 2:00 am. Each venue puts on its own themed events and performances.
The handiest car parks are those at the railway station and in the old town. For Piazza Kennedy and the seafront there is parking in the Marina Centro area.
Given the crowds, it is best to come by public transport or on foot if you can.
