The best hours are sunrise and sunset, when the golden light brings out the pastel colours of the houses and the murals.
The Tiberius Bridge is especially striking at sunset, with its reflections in the water of the Marecchia. For the inner lanes, early morning gives soft light and fewer tourists.
Photos you take in the public spaces of the Borgo can be used freely for personal purposes: sharing them, printing them, posting them on your own accounts.
Commercial use is trickier than it looks. Italy has no freedom of panorama, and reproducing cultural property for profit requires authorisation from the body responsible for it (Italian Cultural Heritage Code, articles 107 and 108): the Tiberius Bridge, for instance, falls into that category.
